Ethics of College
Usage -> Every student must use the IT infrastructure
of the university for the academic purpose only. Since the
university is huge and has a demand of decent bandwidth for
academic use, the infrastructure should not be used for personal
use.
Complaint -> No student should access the
prohibited websites under any circumstances via any third party
unblocking software. The websites are blocked on the network to
promote academic growth and minimise the wastage of time.
Sharing -> Every student is given an user id
and password to login for accessing the internet. In any
circumstances, these should not be shared with any person outside
or within the university. Any undesirable activity by the login
details would result is action against the student having the
associated id.
Hardware -> The hardware used in the labs
should be limited to be used within the labs. Any equipment/device
should not be taken out of the lab to give everyone an equal
opportunity to use the shared resources.
Privacy -> No student should try to infilterate
the network of the university via any source or knowledge gained
via the courses. Any such activity should be done in ethical way
and be brought up to the notice of the administration.
Bandwidth -> In order to have a more bandwidth,
no student should remove/restrict connections to the routers via
any networking technique. This would also result is non-compliant
for the IT policies.
