Referring to Conflict management, identify the five major steps involved in managing a conflict situation with the help of an example detailed for each step. Type into the text box below:
Five steps involved in managing a conflict situation :
i) Choose a safe place and take time to talk : If in a company there is happend a conflict situation between the employees , as first need to define the source of the conflict situation to the head of the company/ HR. Then, the manager identify a safe place and gives time to talk with the head of employee/ employees. Like, there is an salary issue for the employees generate a conflict situation in an company , first the head of the company/ HR , puts a meeting the head of the employee.
ii) Individual persons' perception need to be clarified in the conflict situation : During the meeting every employees' problem need to clarified which is causing the conflict situation.like for the salary issue every employees' monthly expenditure and monthly income have to say eleborately
iii) Practice of taking an active and empathetic listening stance: In the meeting, the head / manager need to be listened with polite behaviour to each persons' problems, else the problems might become more complex. Like for the salary issue if the head/ manager shows rough behaviour/attitude to the emplyoees' without listenting to them, the situation might become more hapazat.
iv) Generate multiple options that give a possible solution of the conflict :
After listening to them with polite behaviour, the head/ manager propose several options/solutions to overcome the conflict situation and also gives benefit for the company like for the above issue if the HR give several options (like increment or bonus or some percentage of salary hike) which gives benefits both employees and company.
v) Produce an agreement that works for all: Finally, from the several options the head/ manager fixes a option with agree of all the members and produce an angreement to the members to resolve the conflict situation. Like if the HR fix an option by hiking some basic salary and give bonus only for the hard working that would might benefit both of them to resolve the conflict situation.
