How will the environment affect the airline industry? Give at least 10 affects and explain each

The airline industry has to face one of its biggest challenges from the environment. As we all know flights are moving in the sky.so a slight variations in the sky or atmosphere adversely affects large number of passengers and crew members. The following points explain what are the environmental factors affect t airline industry.

1. Global warming

Global warming means surface temperature changes by increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. An increase in the temperature negatively affect the movements of airlines on the sky.

2. Green house gases

The radiation from planets atmosphere warms the planets surface. It actually increases by some green house gases like methenole, carbon dioxide etc. It forms a phenomenon called 'green house effect'

3. Acid rain

It is caused by the high emmission of silver dioxide and nitrogen oxide which react with the water content in the atmosphere and produce acids. It affects human beings as well as airline industries.

4. The eruption of Icelandic volcano

It creates biggest ash cloud will cause disruption in the airline travel. This is the another effect of environment on airline industry.

5. Heavy Snow fall

Heavy snow fall will close the airport and it will create huge loss in the airline industry.

6. Shortage of natural resources.

Most important resources for the efficient running of airline industry is the availability of oil. increasing shortage of oil is not favourable for the smooth functioning of the airlines.

7. Tornado

It is a tallest colume of air that firms a funnel shaped cloud and spins very fast and creates a lot of damage in the atmosphere. It is a violent wind storm that badly affects the aviation industry.

8. Firestorm /wild fires

Huge firestorms have a great impact on airline industry. It is common across United States and may cause problems for airline dispatchers

9.Hailstone

Hailstone is more or less invisible. So that It may not comes out from the bottom of the rain cloud. Due to hailstone rain, aircraft will divert and damaged heavily.

10.Thunderstorm or hurricane

If a little change in weather condition causes to cancelled airline services. Flights may be cancelled or delayed due to thunderstorm. Hurricane or Tropical Storm are the another examples of environmental impacts on airline industry.

The above environmental factors adversely affects the airline industry in different ways. But one important thing is that the most important environmental problems like green house gases, noise pollution and global warming are the result of huge emission of CO2 in the atmosphere. Airline also contribute much to the carbon emissions. The impact of the above factors can identify from the cost structure of airline industries.
