Based on Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, list each type and describe one of your family member's personalities on each of the eight types of intelligence. Be sure to list and discuss all eight intelligences.

  1. Naturalist Intelligence: This type of intelligence involves being sensitive towards nature and the world. The person with naturalist intelligence has sensitivity towards the features of natural world. Gardener, Zookeepers, botanist and chef have naturalist intelligence. My one cousin has great passion towards gardening. It is not only passion but her minute and detailed knowledge about plants, their needs of water, soil, sunlight etc. She is excellent in knowing the features and needs of a plant just by touching and minutely observing the leaves of a plant. She is very sensitive about the problems related to nature whether it is about beaches, or hills or tress and she actively participates and tries to work on such problems.

Musical Intelligence: It is the ability to distinguish between pitch, rhythm, timbre, and tone etc. People who with high musical intelligence are good in thinking in patterns, rhythms and sounds. These people are fond of music and have great knowledge about music. They enjoy musical compositions and performance. My best friend is has great music intelligence. She has great understanding of music notes and rhythm. She learns well with music and for her music works a meditational object. She has great understanding of complex pattern of musical structure. She even uses music as emotional healer.

Logical-Mathematical Intelligence: It is the reasoning ability of a person, problem solving skills, learning abilities using numbers, understanding of abstract visual information, and analysis of cause and effect relationships in a logical rational way. This intelligence is generally high in scientists, mathematicians, and analyst. My spouse who is a banker is great in logical mathematical intelligence. Command on math and logical is his strength. He is good in solving abstract logical problems. He just plays with numbers and digits. He is good in explaining the concept and ideas in a logical way.

  1. Verbal/Linguistic intelligence: Such people love words. They enjoy reading and writing. I find my friend good in linguistic intelligence. He enjoys reading, has rich vocabulary, and sound knowledge about sentence structure complexities and he enjoys reading and writing both.

  1. Interpersonal Intelligence: I find that my sister-in-law has good interpersonal intelligence. She is so comfortable in meeting with stranger and establishing good rapport with them. She is always enthusiastic and lively in gathering and enjoys being surrounded by people. Her social circle is huge and she enjoys in party and social gatherings.

  1. Intrapersonal Intelligence: I think I have good intrapersonal intelligence. I really enjoy being with me only. I analyze my own feelings, values, beliefs and live in my own world. I am not very fond of people and social gatherings.

  1. Visual/Spatial Intelligence: My husband has good visual/spatial intelligence. He is good in remembering directions and maps. He usually remains very aware about surroundings. His sense or measuring distance, space is excellent. He is good in solving visual puzzles. He remembers routes and places very easily.

  1. Kinesthetic Intelligence: I think I have good kinesthetic intelligence because I have good control on my body movement. I find it easy to learn through movements. I enjoy physical activities and have good coordination and balance skills. I enjoy playing outdoor games, love yoga and dance.
