Based on the multiple intelligences, what is your learning preference? Which learning style is the most challenging for you? Why is this important to understand when teaching? How will you incorporate all of the learning styles in your classroom?
Linguistic learning is my learning preference as it allows us to retain the information through writing, reading, and listening. Creating a handout and using mnemonics helps me to memorize the information.
Logical learning is the most challenging learning style as it requires focusing on recognizing the relationship between different numbers and patterns. I find it hard to understand the relationships and patterns in mathematics. Incorporating this learning style in the classroom requires establishing the relation of pieces of information and can be quite difficult.
Visual learning can be incorporated using diagrams, charts, and images. Replacing words with images and colors may help.
An auditory learning style can be practiced by organizing debates and discussions. Creating rhymes and jingles to help memorize the information can be one example of auditory learning.
Interpersonal learning can be practiced by holding role plays, dividing the audience into groups, and allowing them to ask as many questions.
Intrapersonal learning styles can be practiced on an individual level. Providing notepads, putting together charts, study guides may help the students to take notes on an individual level.
The kinesthetic learning style allows the learner to memorize information for hands-on learning. Holding demonstrations, incorporating learning games, and providing step by step to help the members to do something.
