Discuss following quality tools? How would you apply and what specific task?
1. Process Flow Diagram 2. Check Sheet 3. Histogram 4. Pareto Diagram 5. Cause and Effect Diagram 6. Scatter Diagram 7. Control Charts
1 Process Flow diagram - It is a diagram or chart which shows the process or steps in a manufacturing in a factory or plant specially which includes process engineering like chemical or pharmaceutical. It only highlights the major processes and activities of a process and omits the small details like bypass connection pipes ets, Process Flow Diagram can be computer based or on paper too, now days it's mainly computer based and used dedicated software. PFD is used for standardisation of process, documentation of process , to study the process for improvement and efficiency, communicate with employees and staff.
2 Check Sheet - CheckSheet is a type of document which records the qualitative and quantitative data at their origin in a process in real time , it records the defects in production, types of defects, cause of defects, location of the defects etc
3- histogram - it is a statistical tool whuch to is an important tool in 7 tools of Quality Control , histogram shows the vertical bars as problems and the hight of the bars represent the cause of the problems.
4 Pareto Diagram - it is on the name of Vilfredo Pareto, and its similar to histogram but it includes bars and line both in the diagram, vertical bars shows the individual values in decreasing order it follows of Pareto principle of 80;20 that is 80% of production is from 20% of inputs.
