organizational metaphors
- Machine: An organization can be viewed as a series of connected
parts which co-ordinate and work together to deliver repeatable
output
- Organism: An organization is like a living organism. It
responds to its environment and in order to survive, it must adapt
as per its environment
- Brain: An organization is like a collective brain that is able
to process information and learn over time
- Cultural system: An organization is like a mini-society in
itself with its own sets of cultural values and traditions
- Political system: AN organization is a political system where
there is a constant effort to gain power and influence
- Psychic prison: People's thoughts and capabilities are limited
by a collection of myths and stories
- Instrument of domination: It is an instrument to impose wills
and exploit resources for own benefit at the expense of others
