Describe HL7 and its organizational structure and charter.
HL7 is health level 7 is an international standard developmental organisation operating in health care sector.HL7 's domain is clinical and administrative area.
HL7 is headquartered in Ann Arbout in Michigon.The organisation is managed by board of ten directors in which 10 elected position and 3 appointed positions.The chief executive officer reports to the board of director and serve as an exofficio member.Cheif technology officer and the chief operating officer report to the CEO and serves as an exofficio members of board of directors.
The organisation consists of more than 40 work groups and they are responsible for defining HL7 standard protocols.Each work group is chaired by more than 2 co-chairs andis organised into four functional groups called steering divisions. Technical issues related matters are solved by technical steering committee members and they are selected from steering technical steering committee also includes representatives from HL7 affiliates and architectural review board.
HL7 has members from over 50 countries including more than 500 corporate members.
HL7 international has specific standards and guidelines which healthcare companies can shared eachother.This helps the companies to minimise the medical care to be isolated.
