2 What is the difference between abilities and skills leave examples of each how do these relate to job performance?
1) organisational culture is an invisible property, that comprises of rules, norms, artifacts, symbols, behaviours, and traditions. These factors directly affects the individual behaviour, group work, and also on productivity of organisation.
In an organisation, culture creates an environment, wherein every member performs his duties and maintain relationships with each other, and also with customers/clients, stakeholders. Culture drives the behaviour that is acceptable, and make the employees work in compliance with the norms, rules, and respect the traditions as well as inheritance.
Individual employees and management work towards attainment of goals, and vision, that are based on cultural values of the firm. Individual members need to work in accordance with the cultural framework and structure of the firm, when they work in a group they have to follow the instructions, norms, and abide by the cultural values. And when they perform well in an effective as well as culturally driven environment, the productivity of the business firm increases.
Culture involves various subcultures, that have impact on the members of the firm. If these cultural values are not flexible, and don't provide room for upgradation then the performance of the firm start to decline. Except the inherited values, a good and strong culture must welcome transformations, improvements, and must provide empowerment.
