Discuss an example of a situation involving conflict between two employees or an employee and management, and discuss the methods used to resolve it, and whether they were successful.
Conflict between co-worker or management is common at the workplace. Managing these conflicts is the important management competency & the business owner should study and also practice the effective management skills in order to maintain the positive vibration at the workplace. For example Mr A and Mr B works in the organization ABC . Mr A was hired few moths ago and Mr B works in the organization from past 10 years. Both these employees are strong headed but , they have personality issue between each other. Mr A is a proficient worker, he has the good knowledge about the industry and also he has done job for many years. he waits until last minute to get his work done. Mr B works steadily and works daily to keep on top. Mr B complaints about Mr A, as Mr A is not doing the work which Mr. B expecting from Mr A. Mr B feels that he needs to concentrate and worry about both of their work, Their work relays each other in certain task, Mr. B was uncomfortable with the working style of the Mr. A , As he needs to wait until an hour or just before the deadline , when they are forced to work together. Because of this conflict between both. Mr. A is missing more work that is because Mr A needs to avoid Mr B. It is important that , once these two employees are forced to resolve their conflicts and differences in opinion in communication or mediation. you need to try to understand how they are feeling and make them feel heard. The department in which the two employees are working together is small and only few people are having knowledge about the that industry then it is difficult to rearrange the personality that easily. Then you need to consider the changing their work structure, Make the environment such a way that they do not interact as much. Working such a way is not ideal in most of the cases, but small compromise will keep the employees happier. The common conflict arise due to difference in the work style . this can be generally resolved with re organization or little understanding. the issue is also can be solved by talking with both the employees discuss the way in which jobs are assigned and making them understand to what is their role in the organization what is benefit for them.
