Gastric cancer

In this condition the stomach of the person will get affect by cancer and will result in impaired digestion

The main cause of the condition are smoking, pickled foood , h.pylori infection etc and these etiological factors lead to the formation of a lesion on the top layer of stomach mucosa . When time progress the lesion will infiltrate into the sublayers if stomach and finally to other organs. lymph node are abundant in the stomach so metastatic growth start through the lymphatic and vascular structure . Brain , liver and peritoneum is the main site of metastasis.

It cause dyspepsia in individual and lead to early satiety. This will cause individual to take less amount of food and so the body will become lack in nutrition. Weight loss are common due to indigestion of protein in stomach and protein deficiency occur in the individual. Vomiting cause further loss of nutrition in the body . Fluid and electrolyte imbalance develop which requires constant correction. Iron and folic acid deficiency occur along with deficiency in RBC will cause anemia in the individual. Vitamin b12 deficiency is higher in gastric cancer individual.

Individual will only take less amount of food due to early satiety and also lack of digestion that is dyspepsia occur . All these when combined cause malnutrition in the individual.
