1. The inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), is the chronic inflammatory condition of alimentary tract that usually occurs in young adults. The IBD's includes crohn s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Crohn s disease: The terminal ileum and the rectum are most commonly affected. There is chronic patchy inflammation with edema of full thickness of intestinal wall, causing partial obstruction of lumen. The cause is not entirely clear, but it may be that immunological abnormality renders the individual susceptible to infection.

Ulcerative colitis: It is a chronic inflammatory disease of mucosa of the colon and rectum which may ulcerate and become infected. The cause is not known, but there is a association with arthritis, iritis, hemolytic anemia.

2. The fiber poor diet may lead to constipation. Sometimes constipation may lead to inflammatory Bowel disease.
