Marijuana is produced from dried parts of Cannabis plant including it's seeds, stem, leaves and flowers. It has various effects on different systems of the body. When you smoke marijuana into lungs, it will directly reach the bloodstream and caise fast action. But eating or drinking it can take more time for absorption and thus, action. The effects of marijuana on different systems are as follows :
Respiratory System : It has ammonia and hydrogen cyanide that can cause harmful effects. It increases phlegm production and increase risk for bronchitis and lung cancer. It can also aggravate existing diseases like asthma and COPD. The person may cough and wheeze on peraistent use along with increased risk of lung infection.
Cardiovascular system : It can cause rapid heartbeats that may be risky in individuals with preexisting heart diseases. It can also increase the risk of heart attack.
Central Nervous system : It has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. It may also be usefulin controlling spasms and seizures. The harmful effects on CNS is not well identified. It can also trigger the dopamine level that make us feel high and do not help to make memories during that time. It can also alter oir balance and coordination. Other CNS effects of marijuana include delusions and hallucinations. It can also cause anxiety.
Digestive system : It may cause a burning sensation in mouth and throat while inhaling it. It can cause nausea and vomiting when taken orally and can also affect liver. It can also increase appetite.
Immune system : It is found that marijuana can damage your immune system and thus, increase vulnerability to diseases.
