How effective do you feel character-based appeals are in television advertising vs print advertising?

Whether any product or the service, each and every business needs advertising in order to establish the connection with the customer. Small companies are concerned with the choice between the spending their money on printing ads and television ads. The printing ads comes lower price than the television ads.

  • Reach: Nowadays all the homes will have TV and unlike print publications, people will watch the local television and the networks for free. TV advertising will reaches thousands or million customer every time when the advertisement plays, but news paper advertisement reaches to the only customer who buy the news paper or the magazine. Sometimes people will not even bother to read the advertisement written in the news paper.
  • Diversity: Television ad will allow the business to appeal wide range section of the population. TV watchers includes members from every demographic category. But the print advertisement attract only following specific subset of the population such as sports enthusiastic and political liberals. So print advertisement will not find much potential customer outside of the demographic category population.
  • Multi sensory: TV advertisement engage sound and sight during motion. This will make customers to learn and recall the ads. the audio and visual effects will help customer to remember the information about the product or service. But print advertisement restricts visual effects and sounds. it has only single image and text, which limits the potential customer
  • Speed: The TV advertisement convey information quickly than the print advertisement. print advertisement needs more text to convey the information and also needs emotional contents, but sometimes it will fail to convey the information to the customer. Television advertisement will runs 15 seconds to 60 seconds and it occasionally aired in the television. with its visual effects and audio it attracts the many customer.
  • Impact: Unlike the print advertisement , TV advertisement will have high impacted messages which combines audio and visual images.

In your opinions, what makes a spokesperson legitimate and believable?

The spokes person is not selected by any chance, before choosing any spokesperson careful research is conducted and they are chosen because of their credibility and attitude in promoting the product to potential customer. the spokes person should be able to convince the target audience to make them to purchase the product. the customer should believe the spokesperson. There are some qualities of the spokesperson which makes audience to believe them

  • They should deliver the clear and concise message which should be understandable by the audience
  • They should have energy and enthusiasm
  • own that they say and give it proper meaning
  • Should have the ability to know and understand the audience and their needs.
  • Should have the ability to capture the attention of the audience, it may be by attitude, speaking skill, good attire
  • Use real world examples in order to support their key message and which are relevant to the audience.
  • Should be genuine.
