Expert Solution

Advertising is a type of marketing strategy that attracts the consumers more effectively. To attract the consumers with the constant stimulus, the marketers tend to use the three significant factors of fear, sex, and humor. The three factors tend to hit the stimuli of the customers. An example of an advertising strategy that uses fear as an attractive factor is that of Horlicks. Horlicks tend to fill the minds of consumers with the fear of not growing taller. Using this fear, the company claims that Horlicks will make children taller and more reliable. The brand also claims that the children will perform better by adding Horlicks to their milk. However, some consumers have negative feedback because they do not see any change. The second factor is sex. An example of such an advertisement is that of an ax signature. The company claims that the men will attract women if they use this deodorant. However, the ad also invited many critics. It is because the advertisement did not necessarily need the mention of women. Hence, such companies should keep in mind that no one’s sentiments get hurt. The last factor is the humor appeal. An example of such an ad is Fevikwik gel. The hockey players play a humorous role in the ad. The print ad mentions how the players often break their hockey sticks, which helps them restore their equipment. Hence, all the factors influence the consumers to buy the product.
