Solutions

Expert Solution

a) as the individual is having one X gene the patient will have female genitals, because no U chromosome is present. The external genitals looks the same like normal individuals. The ovaries,va- gina all looks normal but in pubeey sexual development doesnot takes place and they become infertile.

b) in this condition the individual will lack the sex hormones. During puberty in a normal female the secondary sexual characters should develop. But in this individuals due to lack of estrogen breast formation and pubic hair formation doesn't occur.

Exogenous estrogen therapy can be done in this patient. This is done using injecting estradiol to the individual. This treatment will be helpful in the formation of the puberty characters like pubic hair growth and pubic hair. Pubic hair growth will start similar to the normal individuals. Even if we introduce the estradiol breast formation will take time to develop.
