How would you classify your classmates as an audience for student presentations: friendly, neutral, uninterested, or hostile? why?

Friendly:

A friendly audience will respond to the humor and personal experience, They like you and your topics. For such audience while preparing presentation use any organizational pattern, Try to involve them in the conversation, be pleasant, warm and open. Use as much as possible smile and eye contact . Use humor, personal experience and personal examples.

Neutral:

Such audience will require even and controlled delivery style. You need to fill the conversation with statistics, experts opinion and facts. Neutral audience will be usually rational and calm. Their minds are initial made up or fixed, but they think that they are being objective. Preparing presentation for such audience should include the issues of the both side, Use problem/solution, pros/cons pattern.Be controlled and do not do anything showy, save the time for audience question. Use confident and small gesture also use contrast and comparison. Avoid flashy visuals, humors and personal experience or stories.

Uninterested:

They are the people who are forced to attend the presentation they need brief presentation. They will respond best to humors, colorful visuals, cartoons & startling statistics. Such people will have short attention span, They may be there against their wish , someone might have forced them. The presentation should not exceed more than three points. Avoid the problem/solution, pros/cons pattern, because they may feel its lengthy. be entertaining and dynamic. Use large gestures, move around during presentation. use cartoons, humors, colorful visuals, startling statistics, powerful quotations etc.

Hostile:

Such audience requires calm and controlled delivery style which includes experts opinion and objective data. They want to ridicule the presenter or charge them. They may be emotional and defensive. presentation for such audience should be organized with noncontroversial format such as geographical, chronological and topical strategy. Speak slowly and evenly. Avoid humor and anecdotes, Avoid question and answer period . Accept only written questions and use moderators.
