What are your specific and immediate cultural expectations around death? First, state your specific culture and then identify and explain the rituals(or lack thereof) of death including mourning, honoring of the dead, how the body is handled?

Culture: American, monotheistic religion (Christianity)

Cultural expectations:

  1. Preparation of the deceased's remains
  2. The decision to donate organs
  3. The decision of the place to bury
  4. Hold a funeral
  5. Let people know of a funeral
  6. Wearing black for the funeral
  7. Have a ritual of speaking of the dead
  8. Pay respects for the final time
  9. Recite a verse from the bible (By the pastor)
  10. Disperse after burial

The body is usually prepped by a memorial service. Other arrangements such as music and speech are handled by loved ones. It is simple for Christians to believe in the afterlife and that the dead have passed on to a better place.
