"Sustainable development is a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs." Strong Institutions: An effective state administration with responsible institutions, transparency and the rule of law all have an intrinsic value of their own. They constitute the basis of good governance including anti-corruption measures and are important driving forces for development. Policies should ensure effective participation in and equal benefit from sustainable development projects and actively address entrenched discriminatory stereotypes and inequalities.

Achieving sustainable development means not only reconciling economic and environmental sustainability but also prioritizing social sustainability. Peaceful, just and inclusive societies are necessary to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. This requires effective and inclusive public institutions that can deliver quality education and healthcare, fair economic policies and inclusive environmental protection. These outcomes help ensure greater profitability for enterprises in the future. Promoting peace and sustainable development reduces poverty and prevents conflict, translating to a healthier business environment that allows for a more effective delivery of products and services.
