How would you define social justice? How are the concepts of social justice and Equality related to each other?
Social justice: It is based on concept of human rights and equality and is a just relation between individual and society and is also expressed in terms of economic justice, distribution of wealth , opportunities and social privileges and no discriminations in terms of cast, creed, religion, color of skin, beliefs, etc.
Social justice and equality are inter-related to each other since if individuals are discriminated basis cast, creed, religion, beliefs, etc. and any of them then equality cannot be achieved. Equality is also ensured through law and law ensures that everyone gets equal opportunities under equal circumstances. Reasonable restrictions on equality can be done like requirement of special education and technical know how and experience for any particle job or opportunity.
Equality nears the individual to social equality and imparts social justice if not fully but to a great extent. Social justice is very very import and without social justice there is no meaning of equality because equality consists of political equality, equal economic opportunities but social justice demands more and its demands from society to treat every one equal without any difference and for imparting social justice, society has to give its bit towards achieving this goal and the government can also play their part by making laws and eradicating any malpractice in the society of any kind like difference basis color of skin, ethnicity and modern world has with great extent has done this and government apart from working on giving social justice has huge responsibility to give equality in terms of equal economic opportunities with reasonable restrictions without any sort of discrimination basis color of skin, ethnicity, etc.
So social justice and equality are interrelated and without one, other cannot be achieved and combined effort both by society and modern governments is required.
