Some argue that the traditional role of managers and bureaucratic control systems are in conflict with the principles and processes of self-management and self-designing teams. It has been suggested that managers need to change to be more like coaches in order for such agile teams to be effective. Attack or defend this idea and support your position.
I support the statement, that in Agile Methodology the managers need to play the role of Scrum Coach or Agile coach and the responsibility of such role will be to maintain the Agile methodology throughout the team so that the team does not deviates from the Agile structure. I believe that this Role is given to individuals who have a sound knowledge of working in Agile environment or teams and is aware of the details of how to work in Agile. the traditional managerial roles are getting obsolete with time and managers today are playing the technocrat role where they have both business and technical objectives and have to be effective in their new role as technical managers. Scrum master in Agile can also be a manager who will ensure that tasks are in progress with the expectation of the goals and objectives of the sprint.
I believe that the idea of Agile has changed the concept of managers to quite an extent and has helped organizations use the role effectively for the betterment of organizations.
