Medical sector is a very large industry with multiple professionals.Advanced Nurse practitioner are one among them. Though they are identified now a days in the healthcare sector still there are some impeding barriers for them from achieving their full scope of practice in the following ways

  • There are lack of recognition on these professionals because of their educational level ,experience and their skills by general public and even the other health care professionals working with them . This raises the question of quality care from them besides how experienced and skillful they are.
  • The rate of reimbursement is very low when compared to the reimbursement of the health care provider .
  • The autonomy of these professionals to take medical decisions in most cases are not possible ,where they needs to refer to a healthcare provider for higher treatment.
  • They are limited and to be under the supervision of a provider when prescribing certain scheduled drugs
  • The marketing education for these professionals are low compared to the other healthcare professionals.
