Please explain your reasoning.
ANSWERS :
ANS 1. In experiences with links opening new web pages in the same window and tab, and in a new window or tab. I prefer Links opening in the same window and tab. This is beacause of following reasons :
1. Accessibilty is much more in this case.
2. It helps mobile users in locating the previous tab successfully.
3. In mobile phone specially if links are opened in new tab this can lead to a huge traffic and it will be difficuilt to move between the tabs considering the size of screen of mobile thus opning links in same tab is preffered.
4. It provide users with the necessary controls.
5. By opening the link in the same tab the users can interact with the websites in the best way possible as all the pop ups about security and cookies are accessed in the start itself.
* The preferences surely depend on the situation in which we are following a link.
- If one wants to examine multiple answers at the same time from various links then opening the links in different tabs is favourable as we want to analyse the answers simunatenously so this method can be faourable here.
- Wherease if we want to browse a website to look at its components and functionality opening a new link in same tab is prefferd as t will be tiring to go to different tab and close it manually instead of just pressing back button.
So we can conclude that the preference can surely change depending on the situation.
The disadvantages of opening target web pages in new windows or tabs :
1. This practice takes the control away from the users
2. It changes the predicted behaviour of the link clicked.
3. It can cause confusion when searching.
4. When we open a link in seprate tab it becomes hectic as one has to go and specially cancel the tab in place of just clicking the back button.
5. If the link is opened in new tab this can lead to various usability issues.
