In your business experiences, as an employee or manager, identify and discuss the perks and benefits you feel are the most cost-effective in motivating employees.
Identify what motivates you toward performing at the best level.
Discuss what other benefits you could receive that would better suit/respond to your unique individual needs.
What destroys your motivation at work?
The benefits that motivate employees the most are:
1. Medical Insurance
Medical insurance is likely a non-brainer—it’s one of four major
types of benefits most employers offer. It covers things including
hospital and doctor visits, surgeries, and prescriptions. Employers
usually cover a portion of this premium.
2. Health Reimbursement Account (HRA)
Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRAs), sometimes called Health
Reimbursement Arrangements, are group health plans funded by you,
the employer, from which your employees are reimbursed tax-free for
qualified medical expenses up to a fixed dollar amount per year.
Unused amounts may be rolled over to be used in subsequent years.
Employers fund and own account
3. 401(k) & 403(b) Retirement Plans
A 401(k) or a 403(b) is a retirement plan named for the section of
the tax code that governs it. (WSJ). A 401(k) plan can be an
important tool for a small business to attract and retain
employees. When administered correctly they should not pose much of
a risk to the Plan Sponsor, but we have seen and heard too many
stories of Small Business Owners getting in trouble for issues they
could have avoided
4. Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
An employee assistance program (EAP) is a work-based intervention
program designed to identify and assist employees in resolving
personal problems (e.g., marital, financial or emotional problems;
family issues; substance/alcohol abuse) that may be adversely
affecting the employee’s performance.
2. Success motivates me to do a decent job. It's what keeps me going that knowing that my hard work and perseverance will help me attain higher professional achievement. I think aligning the vision and values of the company with my own is one way of achieving this. It promotes me to push more when I understand that my attempts are following the right route. Success is therefore crucial to me at both a private and an organisational level. Motivation is to see the organisation develop that eventually leads to personal accomplishment and success.
3. Compensation Time is something that is very essential While
few nonprofit employers offer overtime pay for exempt staff, many
do offer comp time.
Comp time means that for every extra hour you work overtime you can
take up to an hour off. This may be a formal system that requires
you to keep careful records, or it may mean that you have the
flexibility to come in late or leave early; there may also be a cap
to comp time
4. Toxic coworkers and a toxic culture
When workers get along with their colleagues and love company culture, they’re happy and engaged. When they hate their coworkers and loathe their company’s toxic culture, they tune out. Toxic work culture destroys my motivation.
