What is obesity.
How to prevent obesity.
Obesity is a medical situation in which excess body fat has collected to the extent and have an negative effect on health. It is explained by body mass index and evaluation of fat distribution via the waist–hip ratio and total cardiovascular risk factors. Obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases and conditions, particularly cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, obstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancer, osteoarthritis and depression. It is caused by a combination of excessive food intake, lack of physical activity, and genetic susceptibility. It is mostly preventable through a combination of social changes and personal choices. Treatments of obesity are changes to diet and exercising . Diet quality is improved by reducing the consumption of energy-dense foods, like as high in fat and sugars, and by increasing the intake of dietary fiber. Medications are used along with a suitable diet, to reduce appetite or decrease fat absorption. If diet, exercise, and medication are not effective, a gastric balloon or surgery may be performed to decrease stomach volume and length of the intestines, which leads to feeling full earlier and decrease ability to absorb nutrients from food.
Prevention of obesity:
Eat more fruit, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains.
Exercise, even moderately, for at least 30 minutes a day.
Cut down your consumption of fatty and sugary foods.
Use vegetable-based oils rather than animal-based fats.
