What steps are cited as to how one can prevent foodborne diseases?
STEPS TO PREVENT FOODBORNE DISEASES----
1. KEEP YOUR HAND, SURFACE CLEAN AND HYGIENIC- firstly, hand wash your hand with soap water for 20 seconds before and after cooking food. Also try keep wash your hand during food preparation. If you touch any contaminated surface like toilet, changing diper, sneezing, coughing you should wash your hand. Along with that keep all surfaces in kitchen and utensils , equipment clean,sanitize during the food preparation.
2. DON'T TRY TO CROSSCONTAMINATE-- keep all the cooking food separate means the raw meats, seafoods. Use separate equipment for cooking separate foods. Keep separate food in different containers.
3.COOK AT PROPER TEMPERATURE-- throughly cook the separated food for specially raw meat, seafood. Better to use thermometer during preparation. For example soups, stews are needed temperature of 70 degree Celsius. If you keep your for in refrigeration , reheat the food thoroughly.
4. KEEP THE FOOD AT APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURE-- don't try to keep food in room temperature more than 3 hours because it can spoil the food. Refrigeration should be done below 5 degree Celsius. Don't store food for a longer duration.
5. SHOULD NOTICE - keep the food away from flies and insects because these are vulnerable source of foodborne diseases transmission. Cover the food ( before and after preparation) throughly to avoid the flies and insects.
Throughout the process , use safe water . If the foods are eaten raw( vegetables, fruit) throughly wash in running water . Always monitor the expiry date of the food. If expiry date is crossed then discard the product.
