What is Melanoma? How does it form? What can prevent it? What are the symptoms of it?
Melanoma is a type of skin cancer. This is a cancer of melanocytes which are melanin producing cells in the skin. Melanoma could be caused by exposure to UV rays. Genetic factors are also responsible for melanoma. Melanoma starts as a mole and then spreads out. Melanoma can be prevented by protecting the skin from UV rays and also periodically checking moles on the skin. Symptoms of melanoma include increase in size of a mole, darkening of skin or change in mole color.
