Healthy foods helps to have "good" cholesterol levels which prevents diseases. It does not mean how much we eat but it is what we eat.

Healthy diet to prevent cardiovascular disease:

The quantity that we eat is more important and having low-calorie and nutrient rich foods prevents cardio vascular diseases. Fruits and vegetables contains substances that prevents heart diseases. Fresh ones preferred are better than preserved. Whole grains contains good sources of fiber and plays a role in regulating the health of heart. Avacados,nuts and seeds maintains a healthy heart. Sodium increases the risk of cardiovascular problems so reducing sodium in regular diet helps to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

Diabetes:

There are two types of diabetes caused due to no production of insulin or failure in utilising insulin. Hence the foods taken by a diabetes patients are not absorbed in the body and blood glucose levels gets increased. So to prevent diabetes vitamin C found in Spinach and other leafy vegetables helps to reduce fasting blood sugar levels. Eggs improve insulin sensitivity and improves blood sugar levels. Nuts help to reduce blood sugar levels and other foods such as broccoli and flax seeds control the blood sugar levels. The diets rich in whole grains helps to prevent diabetes because the fiber present in them makes more difficult for enzymes to break down the starch into glucose.

Obesity:

This is a common problem in both children and adults all over the world. Consuming foods that do not contain fat helps to prevent obesity such as vegetables and fruits. Whole grains keeps the body healthy because of the fibers present in them. Taking protein rich foods is important because proteins helps to build up the body muscle mass and do not gets stored as fat.

Healthy diet prevents other health problems such as kidney failures which is caused by type 2 diabetes. And obesity leads to Heart failures and causes diabetes. So the diet used to prevent obesity, diabetes and heart problems helps to prevent other problems in the same way. Foods preventing obesity helps to prevent cancer,gout,osteoarthritis,diabetes,heart strokes caused due to obesity. And diet used to prevent diabetes also helps to prevent kidney failures and blindness caused due to blindness.
