Please tell me what the reality of the metaphor portray in the song of the vineyard, Isaiah 5:1-7 as summary of the content of Isaiah Chapters 1 trhough 5.
What Yaahveh had done for Israel:
What Israel should have been:
What Israel actually was:
The consequences for Israel:
The essence of metaphor portrayed in Isaiah 5:1-7 is God's love and care towards his people, the infidelity of the people and the judgement for the infidelity.
Yaahweh the God of Israel and Judah, have planted both of them as vineyards and tenderly cares for them with his love and protection.
Yaahweh expects for the good fruits of goodness, faithfulness, love, peace, joy , selflessness and perseverance from his people. This was the way Israel would have been. The people who are dedicated to their Yaahweh with all their might and bearing good fruits at right time.
But actually Israel turned to be rebellious people who strayed away from their Yaahweh. Instead of bearing good fruits they produced wild fruits of unfaithfulness, corruption, hatredness, selfishness ,rebelliousness and bloodshed.
The consequences for Israel for their unfaithfulness and rebelliousness would be that their Yaahweh would no longer protect them and care for them. He will leave them for what they are, no longer caring for them. He would stop all the benefits of his love towards them, so that they bear the consequences of their unfaithfulness and rebelliousness.
