Tell me what is the differences between the Pulmonary and the Systemic circulations. Please explain to me every single step in detail because I don't understand. Thank you!
pulmonary circulation: it moves blood between the heart and lungs . it transport deoxygenated blood to the lungs to absorb oxygen and release carbon dioxide.
systemic circulation: it moves blood between the heart and rest of the body. it sends oxygenated blood out of the cells and returns deoxygenated blood to the heart.
category | pulmonary circulation | systematic circulation |
anatomy | thin vessels ...vessels are dependent in alveolar pressure ....minimal smooth muscle. | thick vessels ...vessels are embedded in tissue ....abanded thick smooth muscle. |
blood volume | 500 ml in a 70 kg person | 450 ml in a 70 kg person |
reservoir function | it contains 10 % of the total blood volume | it contains 90% of the total blood volume. |
role of acid base hemostasis | facilities co2 elimination ,they by adusting acid base balance | facilities washout of lactate and metabolic wastage ,there by adjusting acid base balance. |
blood flow | cardiac output | cardiac output |
gases exchange function | absorption of alveolar oxygen, release of capillary co2 | absorption of co2 by deoxyhemoglobine and release of cappilary oxygen. |
