Managed care plans are health insurance plans with the goal of managing two major aspects of healthcare: cost and quality.

Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO) usually only pay for care within the network.With these plans, the insurer signs contracts with certain health care providers and facilities to provide care for their members at a reduced cost and  health insurance and improving the quality of health care in United States, implemented in 1980' s.

# Implications :-

Cost Containment :- The process of controlling the expenses , It lower rates of medical tests which were reduces expenses inpatient hospitalization etc.

# Development of speciality Network :-

Managed care a loosely connected group of physicians specialized in one area of medicine.This increases the development of care specialized care facilities for disease like cancer, substance abuse etc.These providers make up the plan's network.

# Improving standards :

It has increased efficiency ,set certain standards, for Improving the quality of health care.
