Expert Solution

Q. What motivates you? Are you driven by intrinsic or extrinsic motivation? What examples might you provide to illustrate this type of motivation?

Ans .- I am a person who is motivated by intrinsic factors (i.e., I do a work because I like to do it and/or I am passionate about that work/cause) rather than extrinsic factors (i.e., I don’t do a work only to earn money or gain rewards or avoid punishments). That’s why I consider myself a person who is motivated by the intrinsic motivational factors. I usually feel motivated to do a work due to any one or all of the following mentioned reasons-

· I like to do that work.

· I will learn something meaningful after accomplishing a task.

· It will be advantageous for my career in the long-term.

· I will be able to contribute to society in a positive and meaningful way.

· I will be able to help and guide other person.

One personal example in this regard which I would like to cite is that I was working in the marketing industry with a handsome salary but I have always been passionate about teaching. So considering my interest, I decided to build my career in the academic sector and shifted to this sector. So I think this example is sufficient to illustrate that I am an individual motivated by intrinsic factors.

If you liked my answer then please give an Up-Vote. It will be quite encouraging to me. Thank You! :)
