Its caused by abnormal protein deposition in the brain cells. The protein is called the tau proteiens. This progreesively destroys the memory and impair the cognition abilities. 3# Why is it important to have a working understanding of these medications? Most of the patients drugs has to be started at low drug doses . and have to slowly increase it to the therapeutic levels. The family has to understand that this is a progressive disorder. The medcation are mainly to reduce the speed of pregression and reduce the symtoms and aggression.Most of them have nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite as side effects. More than one drug has to be taken for long periods of time. Sudden stoppage of medications might aggrevate the disease. Its also impotant to inform a new doctor that the patient is on these medicationsas these might interact wih other medications |
