I. Identify an organization you have joined within your community/school, write the name of the organization, goals and objectives, duties of members and current activities/projects of the organization.
II.
1. In your own words, differentiate diffusion from osmosis.
2. How does the renal system maintain the body’s homeostasis?
3. Enumerate the IV fluids and classify them according to their
tonicity.
1,Diffusion is the movement of molecules from an area of high concentratiion to the low concentration, where as osmosis is the process in which molecules of the solvent tend to pass through a semiperiable membrane from a less concentration to more concentrated one.
2, Renal system removes waste materials from metabolism such as urea, creatinin, uric acid and eliminated through urine, urine also contain other waste materials like phenol, sulphate, excess sodium, chloride iones, pottasium. The kidney help maintain homeostasis by regulating the concentration and volume of body by glomerular filtration, reabsorption, and secreation.
3,The IV fluids are the fluids that delivers fluids directly in to vein, for treat certain conditions like, dehydration, hypovolemia electrolyte imbalance, and burns etc
According to the tonicity IV fluids divided in to,
Isotonics - tonicity same as blood, example Normal saline
Hypertonic- tonicity greater than blood, example NS 3%
Hypotonic- Tonicity lesser than blood, example NS 0>45 %
