Your Task: is to identify a problem which you believe that you have a solution for.
In a memo write a paragraph identifying the
problem addressed to your department head. convince your boss that
your suggestion will work.Include concrete examples, anticipate any
objectives he/she may have AND Emphasize benefits and the
specific action to be taken.
Suppose we are engineering department and we work for process design, process mapping and engineering solution to production department. Our company is manufacuring electronics products in large volume for its customers.
I am an employee working in engineering department as a senior engineer. i have found, we have some problem in material movement throughout the factory which causes delay in production. After analysing all root causes of this problem, I suggested my HOD for the improvement in process mapping. Actually when materials are receive in factory, It has some relability test, inward quality test and material upkeep (in store and warehouse).
Objective-
To maximize the profitability of organization by increasing the production efficiency. And eliminate all root cause which impact to productivity.
Solution-
After analysis it is found that all the material movement delay due to testing time of component. we are processing for large lot size. Now we are processing for 10000 qty lot on sampling basis and having only 1 quality test lab. we can not increase the lab size due cost constrants. So we will reduce the lot size of material for fast material movement to next department.
