5. Discuss coopetition within an organization that you have been involved with (either in school, a work or a team environment). How has that coopetition led to better (or worse) performance and either a healthy or dysfunctional culture?
The competition level that I would like to discuss about is the time when I was employed at my recent company. The company decided to organise a food making competition where to train and make the employees understand the importance of diversity and culture ask everyone to prepare a dish from their cultures on a special day by themselves at home and bring it to the office that day. It is to be taken care that the dish should be from different cultures. Thus, the best and tastiest dish would be awarded with its employee with a reward. Everybody on that day brought their dishes from their own particular cultures which were truly amazing. Employers and employees sit together, shared the lunch and enjoyed that competition at large where people were bonding together and getting to know more about what other employee's culture be like tasting their food. The best dish was awarded and the employee was appreciated with the title best chef. This competition was a healthy competition ehich built a sense of belongingness, cohesiveness and trust among employees as they understand and bond with each other making the team energy and synergy increase. It was a successful implementation of competition.
