Provide three unique examples of specific sport tasks using (primarily) each of the three energy systems (9 examples total). For example: Phosphagen, 100m dash (don’t steal that one).
Phosphagen:
Lactic Acid System:
Aerobic System:
Phosphagen system of exercise
The phosphagen system of exercise is the quickest way to resynthesize the ATP and creatine phosphate (CrP) stored in skeletal muscles, which gives a phosphate to ADP to produce ATP.
It involves short duration exercises with the purpose of immediate production of energy.
Examples
1. Shot put
2. High jump
3. Football
Lactic acid system of exercise
The lactic acid energy system is the dominant system in sports, which require a Sports such as 200m or 400m run, or 50m and 100m swim are highly reliant on the lactic acid system.
This lactic acid system involves breakdown of glucose (from carbohydrates) which has been stored in the muscles as glycogen and it provides energy to rebuild ADP into ATP. It consists of high intensity for longer than 10 seconds.
Examples
1. 400m Sprinting
2. Speed Skating
3. Crossfit competitions & Circuit training.
Aerobic system of exercise
Aerobic exercise means cardio physical exercise of low to high intensity.
Examples
1. Jogging.
2. Brisk walking
3. Aerobic dancing, like zumba.
