Mitosis and meiosis are two processes of cell division that occur in the body that solve different purposes. Cells in our body keeps dividing inorder to function properly or to replace the dead cells or to heal the wound and for these processes cells under go mitosis because mitosis is the process of Asexual reproduction in which cells divide in two cells having the same genetic content like parental cells that is two daughter diploid cells. While when the cells for reproduction are to be produced like sperm and eggs the body make sure that reduction division occurs so that haploid cell occurs so that when zygote is formed the diploid cells gets one cell from father and one from mother. This processes occurs through meiosis. So, mitosis produces identical cells and meiosis produces different cells from parental because crossing over occurs between the chromosome and because of that genetic material are exchanged between maternal and paternal chromosomes. In mitosis only 1 division occurs and in meiosis 2 division occurs and only one from it is reduction division.
