(IN YOUR OWN WORDS-PEASE DO NOT COPY AND PASTE ) In each statement are two questions. Please determine in each statement which questions is biased and which is unbiased. How their examples do or do not create a bias.
1) Do you think obesity is the cause of cardiovascular diseases (CVD)?According to the CDC, obesity is the independent risk factor for heart diseases and the leading cause of death among men and women in the US. More than 600 hundred thousand Americans die from the diseases every year, more than all forms of cancers combined.
Why people don’t lose weight to decrease risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVD)? One of these questions persuade an individual to learn more about CVD, make their health a top priority and the other put a blame on the unfortunate people who are suffering from the diseases. It is of utmost importance to have an unbiased sample and survey question to ensure the accuracy of the studies, regardless of the opinion of people, and influencing survey takers will cause bias and untrue results.
2)Do you think High Blood Pressure is caused by
stress? Our body produces hormones, which triggers your
fight or flight response. When our hearts beat faster and harder,
our blood vessels start to get small, which can lead to high blood
pressure.
Why should people exercise to decrese blood
pressure? Exerecise is good for our heart. It helps to
reduce stress and also lower blood pressure. Exercise 20-30 minutes
a day and at least 3-4 times a day. If not being able to exercise
to walk will also help.
1) Obesity is one of the causes of cardiovascular disease. In obesity, patient have more adipose tissues which releases pro-inflammatory cytokines which has the potential to induce heart dysfunction and can promote the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Obesity also increases the cholesterol level, blood pressure and risk of diabetes mellitus which all affect heart directly.
People don't lose weight to reduce the risk factors for cardiovascular disease because of the hectic lifestyle. People are so busy that they take up fast foods and avoid exercise. So if people have to reduce risk factors for cardiovascular diseases , an individual change in behaviour should be there.
2) Stress is not the only cause of high blood pressure. High blood pressure is also caused by smoking, obesity, lack of physical activity, stress, old age , family history and chronic kidney disease. In stress, there will be a surge of hormones which will stimulate heart to beat fast and thence narrows the blood vessels thereby, increasing the blood pressure. If people react to stress by following unhealthy practises like alcohol, smoking, et it will further increase blood pressure.
People should exercise daily upto 30 minutes inorder to reduce blood vessel stiffness. Exercising consistently reduces blood pressure by 5 to 8 mm Hg, otherwise blood pressure will increase.
