A single mother with two young children comes into a doctor's office with a medical condition...

A single mother with two young children comes into a doctor's office with a medical condition that can be treated in one of two ways. The first way requires a short hospital stay and a two week recovery. It is mostly covered by her insurance, but she has no one to take care of her children during the work week and cannot really afford to miss so much work. The second way is a relatively new out-patient method that has a three day recovery. She can even come in on Friday so that she misses minimal work. However, her insurance does not cover the procedure. She asks if the doctor can do this procedure but bill it to her insurance as the one involving the longer recovery. What would you recommend the doctor do? State which method you are using from the Making Ethical decision folder. Then apply it. While some of the articles mention the same methods; there are methods that are not in all of them One example is the newspaper test.

According to my point of view there are two major problems facing the children and the mother.Firstly the mother has no income so she faces some difficulty to make her both ends meet.As we came to know about the issues is that somebody must help her and must be covered the insurance.I would recommend doctor to take good decision of new out-patient method.Doctor must talk to the insurance agency to adjust her claim according to the time period. He would also use his power to make necessary recommendations from the board and reach at a proper conclusion for the decision makers.

Actually performing this is not an easy task so it must require support from the company where the mother is still working.The children must be also aware about the conditions of the mother and treat her with equal respect.The doctor may also use political support of parties and trade unions working for in order to get somewhere solutions.

According to me this will be the best solution for the people so that it creates a sense of trust among employees and the people and it will also be a good reputation for the hospital.Hospitals should strive for the excellence,health,safety of the people.Likewise good treatment must facility should be provided to all the sections of the society.
