One personal characteristic which detract from leadership effectiveness is considering himself superior. While there are many personal characteristics which is required for a good leader, I think the one personal characteristic which matters the most in leadership is integrity. I think a leader need to be have integrity to get the trust of its followers or team. It is very much required for any leader. And, if a leader loses his integrity, he loses the faith of its followers and team. If a leader considers himself superior, then it creates ego in him and because of that he looses the connect with his followers and team. There is a charisma, belief and conviction in their own ideologies and motivation to drive themselves with the people to build a different world of their own dreams. These aforementioned traits are common among all the mentioned personalities, though some of these personalities went into the wrong direction and gave the world a very difficult time to remember. Therefore, it is the application of the trait in the right direction that can give better result and make the world a better place to live. Leadership to bring health reforms, a drive for environmental care and spreading of peace with unique contributions are some of the examples.
