Therapies in older adults are
- Use of herbs ,dietary supplements (in biological based therapy
) can cause neurological problems , osteoporosis ,altered
gastrointestinal functions ,hemorrhage , organ dysfunction
especially the kidney and liver which plays an important role in
metabolism
- The CAM acupuncture can lead to complications like infection
,skin sore due to the provider of needle
- Chiropractic and osteopathic manipulation can lead to
osteopathy, pain ,disability of the limbs or body parts.
2.The nurse's role here are
- Respecting their feelings and emotions and treating them with
dignity
- Establishing a therapeutic conversation to assess any problems
and provide necessary therapeutic interventions
Assessment (Using PLISSIT model)
- Gathering information regarding partner ,marital life
- Addressing for physiological health problems
- Assessing psychological status in relation the sexuality
- Use of any medication

verbalisation, assessment
Implementation
- Provide nursing care to relieve physical and mental stress
- Provide basic health education regarding sexuality at this
age
- Provide limited information of the available treatment in view
of anticipated adverse reactions.
