Many people seek alternative and complementary medical therapies for their cancer. Should insurance companies cover the cost of treatments that people believe to be effective but for which no evidence exists to support this belief? Why or why not?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Yes insurance companies should cover the treatments that people believe to be effective. As cancer is a lethal disease to save the life of a patient it is necessary to seek alternative and complementary medical therapy. If insurance companies wil cover treatments this will further help to know the effect of treatment and clinical experience. Hence will create a evidence based medicince on best available information about the effect of therapy..Insurance should cover the hospitalization charges ,radiation , chemotherapy, and surgery charges.
