1)The use of herbal medicines with unknown toxic compounds, may result in adverse effects of herbs and herbs-drug , or herb-herb interaction eg. higher risk of seniors of developing serotonin syndrome when taking herbal antidepressants SJW in which symptoms similar to an infection can lead to mistreatment.
2)use of chiropractic therapies , where older bones are brittle and can fracture under stress.

3)with alternative treatment for cancer the delay in mainstream treatment can allow the cancer to grow and spread to other parts of the body .
