On ribosomes translation takes place.
The main function of tRNAs is to carry amino acids on to the
site of ribosomes for the process of formation of polypeptide chain
linking.
The ribosome shows three sites, E site, P site and A site.
The new tRNA enters A site and moves towards p site and exists
through E site.
tRNA carries exact amino acid which matches the cocon of mRNA
(which sits on ribosome).
Each ribosome shows 2 loaded sites for tRNA on ribosome.
The two loaded sites are A and P of ribosome on which the tRNA
with its specific amino acid sits according to the codon of
mRNA.
Where as E site on ribosome shows unloaded tRNA without an
amino acid. Here this unloaded tRNA exist ribosome. This E site
could be seen on ribosome but not binded to mRNA.
Thus A site and P site of ribosome shows loaded tRNA and E site
shows empty tRNA.
A site shows AA-tRNA, p site shows peptidyl tRNA and E site
shows empty tRNA.
Thus at the same time two tRNA molecules can occupy the
ribosome.
