Ribosomes provide the scaffolding on which tRNAs interact with mRNA during translation of an mRNA sequence to a chain of amino acids.

Part A -tRNA interactions with mRNA and the ribosome
Ribosomes provide the scaffolding on which tRNAs interact with mRNA during translation of an mRNA sequence to a chain of amino acids. A ribosome has three binding sites, each of which has a distinct function in the tRNA-mRNA interactions.
Drag the appropriate tRNAs to the binding sites on the ribosome to show the configuration immediately before new peptide bond forms. Note that one of the binding sites should be left empty.

Solutions

Expert Solution

From the given data,

There are 3 sites on ribosomes are \(\mathrm{E}\) -site \(-\) Exit site where the uncharged tRNA will bound and \(\mathrm{P}\) -site - the peptidyl site where the tRNA which has peptide bond will bind to \(\mathrm{P}\) site and the A-site - aminoacyl site where charged tRNA or aminoacyl tRNA will bound.

Once \(\mathrm{P}\) site and \(\mathrm{A}\) site is filled then the peptide bond is formed between the amino acid present in the \(\mathrm{P}\) site with the amino acid present in the A site then the dipeptide moves from the \(\mathrm{P}\) site to the \(\mathrm{A}\) -the site now the \(\mathrm{P}\) site is empty then the event called Translocation occurs where the Peptide present in the A-site moves into \(\mathrm{P}\) site now the \(\mathrm{A}\) -the site is empty for accepting the next charged tRNA corresponds to the next codon.
