If your Director asked you to develop a new performance appraisal process for your staff, describe what type it would be, how often you would conduct it (be realistic), and at least four employee behaviors you would want to assess.
Performance appraisal is an important tool used by the management to review the performance of their employees periodically and systematically.By this actual performance can be compared to the desired performance.
HOW OFTEN WOULD I CONDUCT IT?
As this is a real time consuming procedure,I would opt it annually{yearly once}if normal.But in case of re-appraisal I would prefer to do every six months.
TYPES OF TOOLS FOR PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL:
1.36O0 PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL METHOD:
I feel this method allows the employee to get rated from all the sources that come in contact with him/her on the job.So,this is a "MULTI-RATER FEEDBACK". This allows to decrease the bias of superiors on the employee.
2.MANAGEMENT BY OBJECTIVE{MBO}
In this process set of clear cut objectives are prepared by the management before hand and they analyse with that of the emploee
