Describe what is required to develop and agree performance indicators with relevant staff prior to commencement of work.
Answer:- Performance indicator also known as a key performance indicator is a metric used by businesses to track and analyze its overall long term performance. It helps to improve customer, financial, and operational performance.
To develop performance indicators the following steps are required:-
1. Establish goals and objectives of the organization because that aligns with the outcome.
2. Establish KPI and share it with all stakeholders so that they know what is expected.
3. Review and compare KPI on a weekly or mostly basis against objectives.
4. Identifying the performance areas so that it can be improved.
5. Once the problems are clearly understood measure the metrics.
6. Keep updating KPI goals as required to improve performance, operational, and customer performance.
For effective performance measurement, there should be an agreement between the management and the people in the organization expected to meet the standards before the commencement of the work. The employees must agree to the code of conduct as their terms of employment.
Some measure that needs to be identified and agreed upon are:-
1. Agree and understand organizational goals.
2. Agree with specific work targets and objectives
3. Agree on the expected outcome of work
4. What needs to be measured, monitored, and evaluated.
