1) Nurse leader’s time management skills:
a. Plan each day in advance and set priorities.
b. Focus on priorities.
c. Should have patience and flexibility, but should not let other individuals or events interrupt the schedule.
d. Assign tasks based on efficiency and skill level.
e. Should be good negotiator.
f. Avoid procrastination.
g. Good coordination.
2) Characteristics of hurry sickness and time urgency often result from procrastination and failure to set priorities. Generally speaking, it happens to an individual without time management skills. Since I am a person with time management skills, I don’t have hurry sickness and time urgency.
3) Inappropriate time management procedures and time traps are starting work without proper planning, improper prioritizing, lack of focusing, procrastination, lack of proper negotiation and coordination, failure to review and adhere to proper time management practices etc.
4) Applying steps of effective time management include:
a. Approaches to overcome procrastination.
b. Write down a work schedule.
c. Set priorities and focus on priorities.
d. Get things right.
e. Have fun and take a break.
