1. Family planning :
Definition: Family planning allows people to
attain their desired number of children and determine the spacing
of pregnancies. In simple words we can define family planning as a
program to regulate the number and spacing of children in a family
through the practice of contraception or other methods of birth
control. It can be achieved through the treatment of infertility.
Family planning help to control the population as well as birth
rate.
2. Legalized abortion:
From 1973, states in US can not ban abortions completely. However,
they can ban abortion after the viability in the second trimester
of pregnancies. Hence if women undergoes abortion after second
trimester with out any physicians concern of complications or
accidents then it would be illegal to abort the child with out
proper justification for bortion.
3. Maternal Mortality Rate :
Maternal mortality is the number of resident maternal deaths within
42 days of pregnancy termination due to complications of pregnancy,
childbirth, and the puerperium in a specified geographic area
(country, state, county, etc.) divided by total resident live
births for the same geographic area for a specified time period,
usually a calendar year, multiplied by 100,000.
4. Prenatal care:
Preventive Health care meassures that a pregnant woman receives
from an obstetrician or a midwife in early pregnany days so as to
maintain good health to avoid complications of pregnancy at the
time of delivery.
